The Nithyam Bhor is a handcrafted perpetual calendar carrying Telugu script, made in our studio in Karamadai, Coimbatore. The day names, month names, and the visual language of this board are entirely in Telugu, typeset and refined with the care that one of India's most visually distinctive scripts deserves.
Bhor is a Hindi word for the break of dawn, the precise moment when night ends and morning begins. We chose it for the Telugu Edition because it captures the specific quality of a morning object: something that marks the transition, the beginning of the day that has not yet fully arrived. Every morning you move three markers. The transition is yours.
Telugu is known for its melodic quality, historically described as the Italian of the East for the way it sounds when spoken. The script carries that quality visually too. The letterforms of Telugu have a flowing, connected character that required specific attention at small sizes. The Bhor Edition was developed with a Telugu reader at every stage, and the script was refined until it read correctly at reading distance on a 40mm wooden disc.

Telugu is one of India's most widely spoken languages, with a literary tradition going back more than a thousand years and a cultural heritage that spans the regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The script is visually rich and requires careful handling at small sizes because of the distinct vowel markers and conjunct forms.
The day abbreviations on the Bhor edition are rendered in Telugu: ఆ, సో, మం, బు, గు, శు, శ for Sunday through Saturday. The months are in their Telugu forms. The dates are in standard Arabic numerals.
The Bhor Edition is the calendar for the Telugu speaker in Hyderabad, in Vijayawada, in Chennai, in Bengaluru, and anywhere else in the world where Telugu is the language of home. It was made so that the first thing you see each morning speaks your language.

- Markers: Solid wood discs, hand-turned in Karamadai. Four-stage sanding. Two-coat paint. Individually inspected.

How It Works

If Your Calendar Arrives Damaged

- We will arrange a replacement at no cost to you, immediately
If a Component Is Missing
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number
- We will dispatch the missing component by the next working day
Change of Mind
- We are unable to accept returns for change of mind - each calendar is made to order specifically for you

Exchanges
- We do not offer exchanges between editions once production has begun
- Please review your selection carefully before checkout
For the Origin Special Edition
- The Origin edition cannot be returned or exchanged once production has begun due to its personalised and limited nature
- If your Origin edition arrives damaged, we will replace it as a priority
