The Nithyam Agam is a handcrafted perpetual calendar carrying Malayalam script, made in our studio in Karamadai, Coimbatore. Every marker on this board is in Malayalam, the day names and the month names rendered in full in one of the most visually beautiful scripts in India, on a wooden disc designed to carry it correctly.
Agam is a Sanskrit word meaning arrival, the coming of something. It is used naturally in Malayalam and Tamil literature to describe approach and presence. We chose it for the Malayalam Edition because every morning is an arrival. The day arrives. You mark it. You begin.
Malayalam script is among the most visually complex of India's major scripts. The rounded, full letterforms require specific typographic decisions at small sizes. The Agam Edition was developed with a native Malayalam reader at every stage of the process. The script was not simplified. It was refined until it read correctly, completely, and beautifully on a 40mm wooden disc at the distance from which a wall calendar is seen every morning.

Malayalam is the language of Kerala, spoken by approximately 38 million people in India and by a significant diaspora across the Gulf, the United States, and beyond. The script is visually distinctive, with full rounded letterforms and vowel markers that give it a flowing, almost circular visual character.
The day abbreviations on the Agam edition are in Malayalam: ഞ, തി, ചൊ, ബു, വ്യാ, വെ, ശ for Sunday through Saturday. The Thursday abbreviation is three characters (വ്യാ) because the single-character abbreviation is ambiguous in Malayalam, and we chose correctness over simplicity. The months are in their Malayalam forms: ജ, ഫെ, മാ, ഏ, മേ, ജൂ, ജൂ, ഓ, സെ, ഒ, ന, ഡി.
The dates are in standard Arabic numerals.

- Markers: Solid wood discs, hand-turned in our Karamadai workshop. Four-stage sanding. Two-coat paint. Individual inspection.
- Finish: Matte lacquer throughout.
- Highlight ring: Higher tolerance. Flush fit. Smooth daily movement.

How It Works
Three markers each morning. Day advances one position. Date advances one position. Month advances on the first of a new month. The ring stays. The markers move through it. Five seconds.

If Your Calendar Arrives Damaged

- We will arrange a replacement at no cost to you, immediately
If a Component Is Missing
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number
- We will dispatch the missing component by the next working day
Change of Mind
- We are unable to accept returns for change of mind - each calendar is made to order specifically for you

Exchanges
- We do not offer exchanges between editions once production has begun
- Please review your selection carefully before checkout
For the Origin Special Edition
- The Origin edition cannot be returned or exchanged once production has begun due to its personalised and limited nature
- If your Origin edition arrives damaged, we will replace it as a priority
